Eco-babies look good in Greene
With allergies on the increase and our planet awash with pollution, environmentally minded parents are increasingly turning to organic products, in order to keep their children from coming into contact with the toxic chemicals often used in standard production and farming methods.
Cotton growing in particular is responsible for the use of vast quantities of pesticides and insecticides, which can disrupt ecosystems and contaminate water supplies. Choosing organic cotton clothing supports the environment as well as the health of cotton workers and their communities. Organic farming methods also encourage biodiversity.
The latest buzz amongst style-aware, eco-conscious mums and dads is ‘Boo Greene’ (www.boo-greene.co.uk). The online baby store offers funky bold stripes and French designed fashions in gorgeously soft organic fabrics, alongside colourful, ethically produced toys and natural baby skincare.
“As parents we all want to secure the best future possible for our kids, and buying organic and fairly traded goods is a part of that,” said Sussex based mum Chloe, founder of Boo Greene. “These products are better for the environment and healthier for those involved in the production process.”
And if current trends continue, the tremendous growth in the organic clothing market looks set to keep going through the coming year, which is good news for the planet.
